Xanders Pirate Birthday!

Xander turned six on September 29th and we had a Pirate Pizza Party at Pizza Hut. We had such a good time complete with swords, bandanna's and who could forget the mustaches!

Tick tock tick tock and my life is just flying by! I wish I would take the extra time to sit down and just post a few images and stories of my family, so that we have something to look back at and remember.

2011 has been full of smiles, trials, and lots of love and I although I don't have the time or energy to recap, I would love to document our little lives. :)

Last week I had one of my friends do our family portraits. It is really hard to push myself ( and Nick) to get them done, but I always feel like if I don't force us to, we would never do it. It's never the right time, I want to be thinner, tanner ,richer...ya know. But I am so glad we did! My kids are as beautiful as ever and I am so very grateful to be their mom!

Time Flies when you are having fun!

It has been a busy busy couple of months but really that is no excuse to keep my friends and family up to date with our family happenings!

We have so many photos and stories to share! I hope you all notice that I no longer have a 4th of July background for the blog! Yes I said July! I opted for a winter one, although I was more drawn to the Christmas ones. I figure it may just be July again before I get to changing it so I better go with one that can last all winter! And now it it time to change it up again!

With a leap of faith and many prayers to our father in heaven we jumped right in and built the nicest studio this side of Idaho.

With the over whelming success of our first few months it's time to start thinking about a grand opening. Any suggestions as to when? I love that I love my job, my family, and my father in heaven!

Holy Batman! Xander turns 4!!!

I can not believe that my baby has turned 4. He owns my heart! Every time I see his eyes light up when he smiles I melt! He is going to be such a heart breaker! (like hims daddy!) I am very blessed that he loves batman WAY more than he likes girls. I am currently on the search for that magical pill that will keep him small forever!

My friend Sheri makes the best cakes and I commissioned her to help me build the ultimate batman cake for my little mans big day. It turned out even better than expected! Thanks my friend!

So my little miss started taking dance classes from Wendy and she Loves it so much! We talk about it all day and have to tell her how many days till dance, as she only has it one day a week. Last week I must have missed the memo that their wouldn't be class that day. You should have seen her face when I reached for the door and she realized that no one was there and she wasn't going to get to dance that day. Chin quiver, crocodile tears and erratic gasps for air. ( she almost had me in tears) So I did what any great mom would do and I drove us straight to Walmart to buy back her love! One my little pony, a bowl of mac-n-cheese, and a nap later, I thought or rather hoped that this incident was long forgotten. No such luck. Well tonight she performed and she did so good! I know I am the momma but she was the most beautiful little girl in the whole wide world! AND she is damn good for two :) If I can get this video to work I am so gonna upload it!

Summer Swim Lessons

So this is the first year that I have ever taken a child to swim lessons. I remember taking them every summer growing up and of course I want my kids to be good swimmers so Xander was finally old enough to go.

He did not want to get in the water. I pratically had to throw him in the first day...and he latched on to a teacher and she had to pack him around the rest of the hour.

The next day I brought my camera and Kynlee. We bought him his "magic" goggles and tada he loved it. We got Kynlee some goggles too. She was SO sad that she wasn't old enough to start swim lessons. It was really hard the first week. She would have done awesome but I didn't want to do the mommy and me class so Kynlee and I just watched.

1st Dance Class

Kynlee took her very first dance class today! It was so cute. She loves to dance and will do a dance to anything. She mimmicks SYTYCD, does the cute dance(when I finish her hair) does the naked dance(when she gets out of the tub). She is always dancing. So I took her to Wendy who said that we could try it once for free but that she doesn't really take two year olds. This little clippet was right after they started...it was cute and then my phone died.

(She is the littlest one doing side kicks instead of front kicks)

She really did pretty dang good and after class I went to ask what they thought. They said that she was welcome back, and that she was one of three that she had taken at age 2 in the 20 years she has taught! SA_WEET! I hope she got the McKinlay dance gene!

Malad on the 4th

So there is something really fun about small towns and traditions on the 4th of July. In Malad everyone and their freakin dog, come home to celebrate with family and old friends! We always go there because that is where Nick is from. We love it!

So we went to Malad for their famous 4th of July celebration. Amongst all the festivities there was a big jumping thing that you could do for 5$'s.

I didn't think that Xan would do it, let alone Kynlee! They both did it and they had a great time!

Camping at Devils Creek

So the family and I went on a mini camp trip to devils creek. Xander has been super excited to try to catch a fish on his new sponge bob fishing pole and was itching to get his pole in the water. Unfortunatly for him, the fish were not very interested in the rubber "plankton" that came as a weight on the end of his pole, so he didn't catch anything but we had fun none the less.

Nick made us some dutch oven dinner and we had a bunch of friends come up and enjoy the evening with us.

4 mosquito bites, 1 lost tie, tons of potty breaks, 0 fish, and lots of pictures! Success!

So yep we have had a few parties for the little birthday girl. The first one was thrown by Auntie Jessica (Nick's Sister) She always throws the kids these amazing parties. I keep telling her that she is going to go crazy trying to keep it up as I have more kids! It was a great party and Xander and Kynlee have not stopped taking about it. In fact Xander says that Chucky Cheese's was at Primary with him on Sunday. Interesting.

The next party was with my family and we dressed her up as her favorite character, Tinkerbell. I really wanted to make her a cool cake. So after a little prep and a lot of money I dove in and made my first big birthday cake by myself! I learned alot of what not to do. Maybe next year I will let Walmart make it again.

My sister-in-law Jessica's step daughter is missing. Please post on your blog to help get the word out and hopefully get her home soon. Her name is Veronica and she is 16.

We need all the help we can get right now......Veronica and her boyfriend disappeared on Saturday night and we have yet to find her. We have bits and pieces of information, but are coming up on 2 days and are really starting to worry. The official alert just went out with the Springville police department and everyone is working around the clock to get the word out and find them and bring them home safely. Matilda Jane Trunk Show

They are this trendy little line of girls and womens clothing that is SO cute! And it is not sold in stores or on line until after all the season's trunk shows.

The brand new line just came out March 1st so we are VERY lucky to have a chance to show the line the weekend of the 20th and 21st.
We also thought, what a wonderful opportunity to let everyone one come and see our new studio! It's looking good!

Thank you to everyone with the well wishes and prayers! I am happy to say that mom is doing well and is almost recovered from her ordeal.

She is in the hospital again tonight getting blood. She has an internal bleed that they have been hoping that it would stop on its own but it looks like its getting worse so off to the hospital.

Seeing Santa

Well we really wanted to go and see Santa. We went to the Mall on the 23rd and surprisingly the line wasn't too bad....BUT the lady taking the pictures was stupid. It really took her like 20 plus minutes per kid...and more if you were buying stuff. She really needed a helper. Nonetheless my kids were super excited to see him. Xan about bounced on to his lap and told him he wanted a bike and Kynlee wouldn't get close to him...although she really liked to look at him. I ended up in the photo. I really am not too happy about it but hey, the kids look good!

My kids have hundreds if not thousands of dollars worth of toys. You would think that they would spend hours on end playing in their custom bedrooms with all of their "awesome" toys. Nope. Tonight it was the sock basket( Yep all the socks are now on my bedroom floor) or my closet. I guess if they are having fun I shouldn't complain but it is Christmas time and I am sure they are going to come home with a car load of brand new fabulous toys that may just go unplayed with. Maybe Santa should save some time, money, and effort and just bring my kids a couple multi-packs of socks!

Bribes

Xander is getting really bad about going to bed and staying in bed. He used to be so good. I just don't know what happened. So tonight I thought I would try a little bribery. This kids LOVES chocolate ( takes after hims momma!)

So after prayers, potty, chocolate milk, potty, band aid(not kidding but you get the idea) I walked him to his bed and slowly open a bliss chocolate square and set it down by his bed. I tell him "Xander, if you chose to eat this chocolate you are promising to stay in bed, because this chocolate is only for good little boys who go to bed and stay in bed." Of course he gobbled it up. I was really thinking I was pretty dang smart and that it had worked and about 30 minutes later he comes downstairs looking like this.....

HELP!!! He's so dang cute I just cant be mad. I need some helpful children hints!

Thanksgiving Eve

I am sitting here reading all of the wonderful lists of thanks and I would feel ungrateful if I didn't share mine! (sounds like the opening line of a testimony in fast and testimony meeting huh!) :)

I have the greatest family. Not only do I have a very handsome, very loving, very giving husband. But I also have two of the cutest kids alive! I love spending time with my family. I would hang out with them all day and all night if I could! (probably explains some of the reasons my kids have a tough time going to bed!) I am blessed with a strong testimony of the gospel which I try to apply to my life. Blessed with goodly parents(and in-laws) who will take in my parolee dogs and love them because they know how much I love them. Our families are always there if we need them, and we are very thankful for that.

2008 has not been a good year for us. It has been the hardest year of my life. I know that the trials have strengthened and blessed me, but I really hope that the lord doesn't give me any more of those types of blessing in '09!

I am very grateful that Heather and I were able to open Paisley Studios. Blackfoot's Only Fine Art Portrait studio. We are doing really well and hope we continue to do well. That dream was a long time coming and I am so glad that it is finally here!

They were super cute! Xander was Darth Vader because he fell in love with the Legos Starwars playstation 3 game. (highly recommended for young kids) Kynlee was the cutest little bumble bee you have ever seen.

Every year (Yes all three of them)Nicks little sister Jessica has thrown Xander a fabulous party. Every year they get a little more extravagant. This year our favorite Auntie Jess rented a Ginormous bounce house equipped with a 20 foot jump room, indoor and outdoor basketball hoops and a two story slide. It was star wars themed and Jess had blow-up light sabers with red lights in them. The kids LOVED them. Jess cooked us BBQ Ribs and cookies and cakes and all sorts of wonderful food! We are so lucky to have such a loving family! Next year I am going to put my foot down and he will only be allowed to have have one, MAYBE two birthday parties!

P.S. The child is totally potty trained. #1, #2, dry all night!!!! Miracles really do happen!

My baby is getting so BIG!

Xan is going to be turning 3 on Monday. He is reaching all of these milestones and I just dont want him to grow up! He just got his first big boy hair cut. He has such beautiful thick wavy surfer "Kowabunga" hair that I just could never bring myself to do it. Well this last week I took him to Kristina and we took the plunge. He is beyond horrible when we take him, and his hair grows so fast I figured it was time to go short. He looks so handsome but so grown up!

He also has all of a sudden decieded that he should be potty trained. Yep. Like over night, he went from diapers to big boys without one accident. (Cross your fingers) even through the night.

Sunday we are going to Salt Lake to Auntie Jess's house for his annual Aunt Jess B-day party! It's gonna be fun and I will take lots of pictures.

Till then I will tell you all of my favorite things about Xander Nixon Jones....

He always wakes up so happy! "my sun, my sun is awake mommy!"

He gives the best kisses ever!

He tells me probably 50 times a day that he loves me.

He only eats 2 things..... Hot "dotdogs" and Chocolate milk

He Loves Legos Starwars

When he goes potty he says "Wait. I hear something! I hear potty mommy"

When he is not body slamming and karate chopping his sisters face...he really does love her

He loves his Daddy...whenever he hears a Harley, any Harley, he runs to the door to see if Nick has gotten home.

We LOVE having Xan in our life! We would never be the same without him!

Eastern Idaho State Fair 08

This may just be the last year that our kids will sit in strollers at the fair and we took full advantage of it. Xan actually preferred to be in his stroller, The little lazy kid didn't want to ride the rides either. Good thing we didn't buy him the $30 wrist band that we almost got him. He is only tall enough to ride 6 rides any how.
Easton, River, and Jaxon also came with us to ride the rides.

Kynlee was a bit hesitant on the merry go round but she had fun by the end!

River rode with Xan. He wasn't super happy cause he wanted to ride by himself but being the over protective mother that I am, I wouldn't let him. Maybe next year :)
Kynlee had a great time, although her piggy tails didn't make it past the parking lot.
Xander had decided that he is too big for naps. Guess this one just snuck up on him!

So my kids are 1 and 2, almost 3 and they love love love video/computer games. Tonight we were out to grandmas and they were so cute trying to play "Chumbob andPatrick". The happiness lasted all of about two seconds before Kynlee got bored and jumped up and turned off the playstation, which made Xander burst into tears instantly.

So I am a little behind on my blogging posts. Nick and I took a little trip with some friends of ours to Sturgis on our Harley. It was a VERY long ride sitting on the back of a bike but we had a good time and made a lot of great memories! Nick is already planning on going again next year. I am hoping my butt recovers by then. I think it may be permanently bruised.

I have been trying to get our front porch painted. It has looked so bad for so long. Xander ALWAYS wants to help mom paint. Usually it's inside the house and it's a firm no. But today I decieded to strip him down and let him go to town.

So just remember. the next time you come over, and you think our porch looks like it has been painted by a two year old, it is probably because it has!

Super Granny

So Xander has a new fascination........It's Super Granny! He LOVES LOVES LOVES this game and he drives Nick and I crazy with it. He always wants to play 2 players so that one of us has to play it with him.

The other day he conned me into playing and when we beat the bad guys and saved all the kitties he gave me a high 5 and a big hug and said in the sweetest little voice. " Mom, You're my Best Friend"

WE FOUND HER!!! A week to the day and almost to the hour, we got our dog Sakoia back. A very nice lady from SnakeRiver saw her running down the old Riverside highway by the train bridge and stopped and caught her. She tracked down our number and called us! When it rains it pours!!!

Everything about this week I can just about say I wish never would have happened.

First the call comes from my sisters boyfriend that she has been in a boarding accident. Abby was surfing behind the boat with a bunch of guys, fell off the board and it bounced up out of the water and smacked her in the face on her left cheek bone just under her eye. It was a very deep cut and she had to have 12 stitches in her face.....(that is the one thing that all young girls FEAR their whole lives are scars on faces)

Then we were going out of town on the third to visit Nicks family and celebrate the 4th in Malad. We left about 6:30 and about 8:30 I get a call that my baby Koi (she's a 6 year old boxer) had jumped the fence and Abby and Kam couldn't find her. My greatest fear is losing one of my children, and never know what happened to them....I have be so depressed and so sad even my two year old comes and loves on me saying mommy don't cry. I seriously would do anything in the world to get her back. We were told that I 14 year old boy had found her and had her down at the skate park bragging about his new dog. I pray and pray that she is alive and safe and the maybe he sees a reward poster and wants the money more than he wants my dog.....but believe you me!!!! I am not going to rest till she is found. If you know any one at the skate park that may or may not know anything please pass this along.....I have to have her back! She needs me and our family needs her!

Then today my little niece Easton slammed her right middle finger in her bedroom door and chopped it off. It was pretty mangled and not much that they could do but hope it heals and that it MAY POSSIBLE grow the nail back.

I am exhausted. I can Honestly say it was the worst 4th of July weekend of my life. I haven't cried so many tears, or felt this kind of pain in a long time.

Please bless that Sakoia can be returned safely to us. She is a part of us and I do not want to go on with out her in our lives. We Love You SaKoia McRuff!!!

I am not the type of person to share really intimate feelings with just anyone, let alone with my husband. I do realise that I need to make that change and make a positive effort to strengthen our relationship.

Fishing Widow :(

Once again I am a widow to fishing. It could be worse....He could love to fish as much as Corbin, but I really hate it when he is away. I kinda look forward to him leaving until he is gone. Then I count every minute every second until he is home. I start making all these plans and then just can not function normally with out him!

Two years ago when they got back from Alaska I told him he couldn't ever go again without me. Comes to show how much pull I have on this end. Needless to say I love him, I need him, and I hate to live life without him. I know he gets sick of me and my unthoughful dinners and stinky forgotten half done loads of laundry, But I wouldn't trade him for all of the fish in the sea! (He may feel diferently about me :))

Love you baby! Hurry home! Be safe! Your children miss you!

The Best News Ever!

Well very early last Friday morning we drove to EIRMC to have Kynlee's penny removed. She was in a great mood.

We got her checked in and changed into the littlest hospital gown you have ever seen. While we waited Kyn played peekaboo under the curtain to her room.

I love this picture. She looks so pretty!

We waited and waited and waited and waited. Seemed like forever! Trying to keep a 1 year old and a two year old busy in a hospital is insaine. Mom and dad came up to help with Xander and to give us some moral support.

Finally Xray came and took one last picture to make sure the penny was still in her stomach after 6 days. None of us really had the faith that it would pass on it's own. After being in the stomach that long it was just too big.....Only aunt Abby had the faith and fasted for Kynlee that it would come out on it's own.
And it did! The Xray showed that in less than 12 hours it had passed thru her stomach and was making it's way to the exit. We were SO relieved. Honestly it couldn't have come out any better!

Of course we had to celebrate by going to Perkins! Thanks Dad! And thanks Aunt Abby!!!
P.S. At about 5pm that same day one of THE most EXPENSIVE pennys made its grand entrance or exit...It will be scrapbooked!

Penny Day 5

Well not the results we were hoping for. Kynlee is scheduled for surgery at 6:30 in the morning. They are going to scope it in Idaho Falls and hopefully fish it out.

The hard part will be not feeding her milk after midnight or anything after 4.

Still Waiting!

So after a long Sunday evening at mom and dads we had just gotten home and I hear Kynlee choking. It was a moment I never want to have to experience again. I ran over and tried to "sweep" her mouth and get whatever it was out. I felt something hard and flat, I figured it was a coin but I wasn't for sure.

I called for Nick and he ran down and tried to get it out again and he couldn't feel anything. She was still choking. I remember hearing that as long as they are breathing they will probably cough it up themselves but I couldn't just sit there and do nothing.....I called my dad. He obviously couldn't be much help when he wasn't there....he just told me that if she stopped breathing to give her the Heimlich and call 911. Then they said they were on the way.

Shortly after I hung up she must have swallowed it cause she was all smiles and Xander kept saying "see baby happy" She's ok mom.

Well Monday came and we took her into the clinic to see what was really inside of her. Looks to be a penny. It still hasn't made it's "EXIT" yet but I am still waiting and sifting every diaper change. Tomorrow if it still hasn't arrived we will be going in for another xray.

Since Sunday she has fallen off the motorcycle (Xanders), got her head stuck between the stairs and the baby gate, fallen off the coffee table and choked on a potato chip!

I sure hope she makes it to TWO!

It's Been a Big week!

My little Kynlee McKay turned 1 on Monday! She is such a sweet little girl who is developing a little feisty personality. I think we have Xander to thank for that one. She has been trying to walk for over a month now but now pretty much has it mastered. She looks like a mini little zombie, but is loosening up now is more like a penguin. We had a Cupcake themed Birthday and it was so cute. Auntie Amber helped me decorate and it looked so cute.
We sang "Happy Birthday" and tried to let her blow it out but Riley beat her to the punch.....3 TIMES!

Today is my dreaded 30th Birthday. I already hate it! I will update this later and add pics!

Kynlee was Tagged by Noah Coats! So here are 8 things about Kynlee

1. She has got to be the happiest baby ever. She is so sweet and has such an easy going mellow personality. (that comment will probably turn around and haunt me)

2. She finally has enough hair for a little teeny tiny ponytail on the top of her head. (See photo above)

3. She loves to bounce in the Jungle Bouncer that Grandma Dana bought for her to play in at her house. She jumps so hard and fast you would think she could just shoot across the room if the cables broke. So cute!

4. She's trying so hard to walk. She just turned 10 months on our anniversary and she really wishes that she could run and keep up with her brother. She scales the stairs like a champ, but can't figure out how to get down.

5. She loves ChEeSe! I don't know if I am supposed to feed it to her yet, but she loves it so who cares!

6. She has 7 teeth. Kynlee has had teeth since 4 months old and has had 7 for a month or two... 4 on top, 3 on bottom! She looks kinda like a Jack-O-Lantern! :)

7. Kynlee's favorite play toys are power cords. Yeah her toys are OK but give her a cell phone charger cord and she is happy forever!

8. Kynlee can say Momma, dada, and Uh Ohhh! So adorable!

We look forward to watching her and Xander grow up. Hopefully not TOO fast!

HOW TO CALL THE POLICE WHEN YOU'RE OLD AND DON'T MOVE FAST ANYMORE.

George Phillips of Meridian, Mississippi was going up to bed when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window.

George opened the back door to go turn off the light but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things.

He phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?" and he said "no". Then they said that all patrols were busy, and that he should simply lock his door and an officer would be along when available. George said, "Okay," hung up, counted to 30, and phoned the police again.

"Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people stealing things from my shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them now because I've just shot them." Then he hung up.

Within five minutes three pcars, an Armed Response Unit, and an ambulance showed up at the Phillips' residence and caught the burglars red-handed.

One of the Policemen said to George: "I thought you said that you'd shot them!"

George said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!"

I never had the opportunity to meet the man. I hope that one day I will. Although we never met, I felt a special closeness with him.(we probably all do) Gordan B. Hinkley was the prophet of the Church but he also was like a grandfather and friend. I loved him for many many reasons! I am sad that my children will never get to know him and his awesome personality. He was a funny funny man!

This video is SO funny! You have to turn up your sound. Xander has been interested in the potty chair for sometime now but is rarely successful! We have a cute little Potty chart that he is earning stickers for with every completed potty mission. When he gets a sticker on all the potty's he will earn a "Truck and Candy"! This little potty chair is quite animated. It has all sorts of songs and sayings. Xan loves it!

I know you want to watch it again! I just want to pinch that cute little bum!

Here we are, half way thru January, and it's my first blog since November. I never said I would be any good at this. Anyhow I have BIG NEWS!! Kynlee McKay Jones is officially crawling! And she has gotten quite good at it this week. In fact, she already has had her first(and hopfully last) tumble down our stairs. No one thought that she could crawl so fast but she quicky proved us all wrong. Kynlee is the sweetest, happiest, most easy going baby I have ever met! When I walk in a room, her eyes light up and she smiles her 4 1/2 tooth smile at me and seriously can not contain her excitement. It's so fun having such a pretty little girl to dress up and spoil. Nick adores her. He holds her while she sleeps just to watch her. They have a special bond. I think she's gonna have a hell of a time when she turns 16 trying to talk her dad into letting her date!

John Deere Green!

Anyone who knows Xander, knows that he loves tractors! I am sure that most little boys that age do. A few days ago, we went to visit dad at the new house that he is building. To Xanders amazement there was a great big John Deere in the driveway. Nick took his hand and helped him climb up into the tractor and go for a ride.

No one ever told me how fun it would be to be a mom and take your family out Trunk or Treating! I love it. Xander has got to be the cutest little boy in the world! Kynlee was given her first sucker by Grandma Dana and she thoroughly enjoyed it! Xan would walk up to each trunk and quietly say "Trick/Treat" and then as soon as the candy his is little spider bag he would yell "THANK YOU"!
